Fountain Inn Community Egg Drop

eggdrop_print-85-x-55 One of the things we have been working on at Capstone is the Fountain Inn Community Egg Drop.  If you have been hanging out in “hip church world” then you know that the egg drop is the popular event for many churches to do to get the word out about Easter. We are taking a great idea, and twisting it a bit.

The Fountain inn Community Egg Drop doesn’t bare our name. We aren’t doing this event to get people to come to our Easter Service.  We are putting this together with two purposes on mind.  The first is to bring our community together. One of our missions at Capstone is provide environments of community.  We want to see all the ages, races, neighborhoods, and classes to come together.  What brings people together better than thousands of eggs being dropped from a hot air balloon.

The second purpose is to bring the churches of our community together.  We wanted to create something where the churches worked together with absolute no expectations from those who attend.  We had a great response from other churches in Fountain Inn who have wanted to jump on board.

We believe that God has something BIG planned for Fountain Inn.  As we begin conversations and to build bridges Capstone prays that our community takes one step closer to better place to live and experience the gospel of Christ with the Fountain Inn Community Egg Drop.

You might learn something – or wish you clicked to another blog 10 minutes ago.

Bullet Blog Time

These first two weeks of March have been CRAZY! And I have allowed my blogging to slip. I might of lost the 3 people who check this thing out. I am just going to do what I call a “Bullet Blog” – just dump all the things going on in my head.

* Capstone’s official launch occured 9 weeks ago. It seems like it has been 9 months. I wonder what I am going to say when it has been 9 years.

* I am amazed at the people and volunteers God has sent to Capstone. We really do have an amazing team of people making this thing happen.

* I have been to a LOT of leadership events in the last two weeks. God has been reminding me that I have neglected my role in the leadership of His church in order to start His church. I am beginning to focus on not just making Capstone happen, but leading it in a way that will muplity His Impact and His Glory.

* For Real – snow one week – suntan lotion the next week. Betsy bought Luke suntan lotion this week. Welcome to the South!

* We put a contract on a house this past weekend. We are excited about getting our own place, but sad about leaving the Barrineau compound. I am sure the guest house will not stay empty long.

* Big News coming Sunday for the Capstone Family that will send us in a new direction.

I have several more things to add this week – stay tuned.
